Technically, excellent people are the ones who
can solve problems and handle unexpected results.
On the human level, they are reacting well when meeting adversity,
master people skills and only the best have charisma. To become a leading
person, competitive, working with others is critical. Social skills are
cooperative problem solving, open respectful relationships, working in
team, constructive criticism...
On the strategic level, they impersonate a strategic "vision"
of the future. In the curriculum of intellectual
skills, this is of special focus because a good strategy can overcome
tactical defeats and mishaps along the way. How to elaborate a winning
strategy? How to evaluate the scope of opportunities, what parameters
to choose to evaluate? For "strategy", even the best management researchers
are talking about "art". Nobody really knows how to elaborate
a good strategy. However, some elements to consider are: common sense,
imagination about what the future will be, maximizing the number of options.
Learning board games like chess or go is a way to develop a feeling of
the strategic level.
Those 3 levels, "technical, human, strategic", are at work in
all OakEdu activities.
