| OakEdu's philosophy is about Education. Educating is not
about grades, fact knowledge, academic credentials, SAT scores or getting
into a famous college. It is about knowledge perspective, critical thinking,
constructive criticism, cleverness, intelligence, creativity, learning,
growing, consciousness, living in society, etc. Education is about shaping
the mind of students not only for technical skills aiming at a professional
career, but also more generally for success in Life and Society. It encompasses
also higher needs like art, playing, tourism, family, social achievement.
Fully accomplished persons have general knowledge, positive attitude, critical
thought, balanced personality with good basic beliefs and values, willingness
to make other people feel better, life goals, social life with real friends,
open mind, respect of others, leadership, just to name a few. This is what
makes the difference, on the long-run, between a real happy human being
and a "zombie" entangled into the rat race of the daily routine
"commute - work hard - commute - watch TV - eat - sleep". The individual is the centre, architect of her/his own Education. Good Education is a person's greatest asset. If well managed, good Education can be handed down from generation to generation and constitutes an asset essential to the development and improvement of community well-being. The knowledgeable student will be informed, empowered, given support and responsibility. She/he will make the right choices and takes the right steps for his or her own human achievement. It is crucial to intervene in the first years of a child's life in order to mould behaviour and enable the acquisition of skills and attitudes essential to Life in Society. |
